This story is a classic in all parts of the world. Once upon a time there was a man walking on the beach. He used to visit this beach regularly for a morning stroll.  On one such day, the man saw an old lady doing something unusual on the beach. To get a clear picture of what she was doing he paced towards her. When he reached closer he saw the old lady was throwing starfishes into the sea which were washed ashore

by the waves. The man glanced at the shoreline and discovered there were millions washed ashore. Perplexed with her action he approached her.

He asked her politely what she was doing. The old lady replied, “if I don’t throw these starfishes in the sea they will die as the sun comes up”. The man immediately replied, “But there are millions out there I am afraid you won’t really be able to make a difference”.

She bent down and a picked up a fish and flung it into the sea and replied, “It made a difference to that one”.

“A single, ordinary person still can make a difference – and single, ordinary people are doing precisely that every day.”
